Photo Requirements for Pets
Because a portrait artist recreates and replicates
visual images, the clarity and detail of the
photograph(s) that you furnish dramatically influence
what is brought to life through brushstrokes.
Hopefully
you have already viewed my pet galleries and observed
how intricately the photographs provided are reproduced
in oil. For this reason, multiple snapshots (showing
your pet from various views and in different positions)
provide insights that contribute to the enhancement of
the finished piece. Please furnish at least three photos
that best illustrate the pose, looks, and personality
that you desire.
NOTE: If you are using a professional
photograph, please ask the studio/photographer for a
copyright release and include it with your order.
Photographs should be taken at eye level with the pet.
When taking a photo, shooting the camera angle down on
your pet from above does not make for the best
composition.
It is good to take photos of your pets
outside (if possible) on an overcast day so that the
lighting is not too strong and will show the best
coloring. If photos are taken inside, a flash is ok to
use if there is not adequate lighting or natural light
from a window. |
